A fund raising event for the family of shot schoolboy Ben Wragge raised £2,000 in only four hours last Saturday.
The event was organised at The Blue Boar, Walsham le Willows by Ben’s friends and pub supervisor Tiffany Dunkerley, mother of one of his friends. Ben, a pupil at Thurston Community College, died after an airgun incident on May 1.
Landlady Liz Curran said:“We were overwhelmed by the support we received.
“The event, which was attended by over 200 people, was a great success and was made even more special as it would have been Ben’s 14th birthday.
“Ben’s friends enjoyed games such as bungee run, wrecking ball, sumo suits and gladiator duel.
“There was a raffle and auction with all prizes donated by local businesses. We would like to thank the local community for supporting the event.
“There was a balloon release at the end of the event and people wrote special messages to attach to the balloons.
“It was a emotional day but also a chance for Ben’s family and friends to come together.”
There is a Just Giving page for the family at https://crowdfunding.justgiv ing.com/kerri-borrett which has raised more than £5,600.
