A young mother is hoping her new business will offer families in Mildenhall a ‘magical’ shopping experience.

Melissa Spyrou’s Baby in Wonderland will open its High Street doors on October 9 and is offering free baby gifts to its first 100 customers.

The shop, located opposite market square, will be selling new and pre-loved clothes, equipment, toys and gifts for babies and toddlers.

Items available include alphabet jigsaws, Powell Craft clothing and Huggy Buddha and Moulin Roty soft toys.

Melissa said: “I’m really excited and it’s a nice time of year because it’s coming up to Christmas.

“I’ve had a lot of good feedback about it already.

“I think people like the wonderland theme which creates the idea of a nice, pretty, fun shop to be in, a magical place where you can come in with your baby and visually there’s going to be lots for them to enjoy.”

Her inspiration for the business came from having her daughter Enya, who is now eight-months-old.

Melissa, 29, of Beck Row, said: “There are so many mums in the area but no other baby shops and you don’t always want to go on a big day out to Norwich, Cambridge or Bury.”

Anyone visiting during the shop’s opening weekend will also have the chance to book appointments for in-store baby hands and feet casting.
