Barton Mills villagers turn out to take part in the Spring Clean for the Queen litter pick
Teams of willing volunteers turned out on March 5 and gave their village a great Spring clean.
Around 14 adults and four children picked up litter that had been thrown into ditches and roadsides in Barton Mills with 30 bags of rubbish being collected.
The litter pick was part of the national Spring Clean for the Queen.
Volunteers concentrated on ditches and the footbridge on the footpath between Barton Mills and Mildenhall.
Pamela Bourra, parish council chairman, said villagers often picked up any litter they saw while out walking but the litter pick had enabled them to concentrate on specific problem areas.
