A man is in 'critical' condition after his van collided into a tree this morning in Badwell Ash, as police appeal for witnesses to the incident.

Police were called shortly after 10.30am following reports that a white Ford Transit van had come off the road and collided with a tree in Badwell Road.

Emergency services attended the scene and the man was flown by air ambulance to Addenbrooke's Hospital in Cambridge where he currently remains after suffering 'life-threatening' injuries.

The road was closed while an investigation into the collision was carried out but it has reopened.

Suffolk police are asking witnesses or anyone who was driving in that area today and who has a dash-cam fitted in their vehicle to contact the Roads and Armed Policing Team, quoting CAD 116 of 30 July via www.suffolk.police.uk/contact-us/report-something/9-dashboard-camera-report-form.

Alternatively you can call 101.
