The B1112 has reopened following a road traffic collision at Icklingham this morning, in which a woman became trapped in her car.

Police and ambulance crews were called just before 8.20am to reports that a car had left the road and ended up in a field after sliding on an icy patch of road.

The B1112 was temporarily closed between Icklingham and Eriswell while the Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service assisted in removing the female driver from the car.

She was taken to West Suffolk Hospital by land ambulance with a suspected back injury. An ambulance service spokeswoman said her injuries were not thought to be life threatening.

The B1112 was reopened by 10am.
