Audi drivers and their friends had a rare chance to try all the German car maker’s high performance models in one place.
Marriott Motor Group, which includes Bury St Edmunds Audi, held an Audi Sport Showcase Day yesterday at Haughley Park Barn for its customers and their friends.
Marketing co-ordinator Doug Pearson said: “If you are an Audi customer, you get invited to this sort of day.
“About 30 per cent were friends. There were people who drove Aston Martins and top of the range BMWs and who got to enjoy the Audi experience.”
The cars available included the RS range from 4 to 8, plus the RS Q3 small SUV and the new S1. Audi does a high performance RS version of most of its models.
But the stars of the show were three R8 supercars, including an open-top Spyder whose prices start at £102,385, though you had to be quick if you wanted to drive one of those.
Drives in the 550 horsepower R8s were quickly booked up and Doug said all 78 potential test drives across the models were booked before the event.
“We took some additional vehicles along on the day for extra drives, so we did about 20 on top,” he said.
Doug said guests had given the day an average score of 9.84 out of 10.
