Arsonists struck again in Stowmarket over the weekend after firefighters were called to a paper bank on fire.

One fire engine was called to the incident, in Wilkes Way, at 1.18am on Sunday and found a paper bank measuring approximately 2m x 6m x 2m which was 90 per cent full with an area of about 2 square meters smouldering.

They used one jet to extinguish the fire and the incident was under control by 1.50am.

A spokesman for Suffoilk Police said they are treating the incident as arson.

Anyone with information should contact police on 101.

It follows a spate of arson attacks in recent weeks in Stowmarket with fire chiefs warning of the potentially life-threatening risks associated with such acts.
