A man has been arrested and bailed following two airgun incidents in Thetford town centre, including one in which a boy was injured.

The man was arrested on Saturday after police were called to Cage Lane, at about 2.15pm ,following reports that shots had been fired from an air weapon. No-one was injured as a result of the incident.

But police have linked that incident to another just before 7pm last Friday in Guildhall Street, in which a boy suffered a minor injury.

The boy was treated by an ambulance crew and then taken to hospital for assessment.

Norfolk Police put on additional patrols in the area that evening.

The 24-year-old man arrested on Saturday in connection with the incidents has since been released on police bail pending further inquiries until Thursday December 1.
