Arrest after fatal crash

A NINETEEN-year-old Stowmarket woman has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving following a fatal car accident on the A14 on Saturday.

Karen Stone, a 44-year-old from Pitsea in Essex, died after the Suzuki motorbike she was riding was in collision with a Renault Clio on the westbound carriageway at Coddenham, between Claydon and Needham, at around 2.15pm.

The A14 was closed for more than three hours.

The 19-year-old Clio driver has been bailed to return to Martlesham Police Investigation Centre on January 15.

Anyone who saw the vehicles before the collision, or the crash itself, should call police headquarters on 101.
