Bury St Edmunds-based Armstrongs Funeral Services has become the latest Bury in Bloom roundabout sponsor.

The family firm, in St Andrew’s Street North, has sponsored the last available roundabout - in the town’s Compiegne Way.

The sponsorship has enabled the roundabout to be replanted by Proscape using a sustainable planting scheme designed by Rebecca Davis, horticultural officer for St Edmundsbury Borough Council.

Nick Armstrong, who started Armstrongs in July 1997, said: “We are pleased to support Bury in Bloom by sponsoring the roundabout. We are a local company who appreciate our lovely town.”

He added: “We know that our sponsorship will go towards improving the floral displays on our roundabout as well as helping to support other Bury in Bloom projects.”

Melanie Lesser, Bury in Bloom coordinator, said: “With this latest sponsorship we now have all available roundabouts sponsored.”

She added: “There is a plan in place for improving a number of the roundabouts in the next few months. We have planned sustainable planting schemes to give all year round colour and interest without requiring extra work on maintenance.”
