Monday is the beginning of Armed Forces week and will be marked with a short ceremony on Angel Hill, Bury St Edmunds.

The road will be closed from about 10.25am to 10.35am during the service and two-minutes silence.

The service will be conducted by the Mayor’s Chaplain, the Rev Canon Matthew Vernon, with the Last Post, beginning the silence, and Reveille at the end played by Simon Foster.

The service will be attended by service organisations and their standard bearers, along with representatives of locally based armed forces units.

The Armed Forces Day Flag will be raised above the Abbey Gatehouse.

Armed Forces Day is on Saturday June 27.
