There is a chance to see what lies beneath a major housing development planned for the edge of Bury St edmunds.

Suffolk Archeology and the developers Countryside are hosting an archeology open day tomorrow on the North West Bury St Edmunds housing development site between the town’s Mildenhall Estate and Fornham All Saints.

The site will be open from 10am to 4pm and access is off the A1101 between the Mildenhall Estate and the Three Kings mini-roundabouts.

Suffolk Archeology says: “This is an opportunity to see the preliminary stages of the excavation in operation as well as meet members of our excavation team, see some of the finds and find out more about archaeology in your area.”

Wear sturdy footwear.
