Police are appealing after a man and his wife were involved in a road traffic collision on the A11.

Wayne Smith, of Smiths Commercials in Thetford, was travelling home to Keddington with wife Lisa on February 8 when he was hit by a van on the Fiveways roundabout at Barton Mills.

While trying to avoid hitting the Ford Transit Connect, Mr Smith also hit another vehicle. The van driver did not stop following the crash.

Mr Smith, 59, said: “It was absolutely stupid what that driver did. We were pretty shaken afterwards.

“I didn’t see him come out of the junction and next thing we knew there was a van in front of us. I can still see it happening, but there was nothing I could do.”

Police were called to the incident at around 4.20pm. Neither Mr or Mrs Smith had to be taken to hospital.

Anyone who may have witnessed the incident is asked to contact police on 101 quoting reference 293 of February 8.
