Police are appealing for witnesses following an assault in Thetford last Monday (February 23).

The incident happened in the wooded area between Mackenzie Road and Canterbury Road between 3.20pm and 3.25pm.

The victim was walking through the area when a man is said to have grabbed him by his right arm before he was able to escape and run off.

The man is described as black, tall and of a slim build. He is said to have been wearing a black hoodie with the hood up, white Nike trainers and to have had a deep voice.

Officers are particularly keen to speak to a lady wearing a green coat, black leggings and black shoes who was walking ahead of the victim with three young children at the time of the assault.

Anyone who was in the area and witnessed the incident or with any information about the man involved is asked to contact Pc James Swayne at Thetford Police Station on 101, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
