Detectives are appealing for witnesses after burglars targeted two properties in west Suffolk yesterday (Wednesday)

At some time between 7.45am and 4.30pm in West Street, Icklingham, the glass in a rear door was smashed to gain entry to a house and an estimated £2,000 worth of jewellery was stolen, along with a small amount of cash.

The second break-in took place between 2.30pm and 4.40pm at an address in The Green, Bardwell, where the glass in a side door was smashed to gain entry to the property, but it has not yet been established if anything was stolen.

Anyone who witnessed any suspicious activity in either village, or who has information about these crimes, is asked to contact the Bury St Edmunds Priority Crime Team on 101, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
