Apex, in Bury St Edmunds, appeals for foodbank donations

The Apex, in Bury St Edmunds, is supporting people in need this Christmas.

The venue is urging people to drop off items such as tinned meat, tinned fish, tinned vegetables, powdered milk and soups, sugar, biscuits and cartons of orange juice and UHT milk.

And those who make their donation before December 24 will receive a 10 per cent discount for a hot drink at the Apex café.

The initiative is a partnership between Apex catering partner Sodexo and Gatehouse, which supports individuals and families in need.

Klaudyna Grela, Sodexo sales manager, said: “A huge amount of good can be achieved by bringing people together for a common cause. I hope people will get behind this and make a donation because every item is needed and will be greatly appreciated.”

Sodexo is also supporting Gatehouse’s fund-raising ball, at The Athenaeum, Bury, on April 5.

Foodbank donations can be dropped off at The Apex Monday to Friday from 9.30am-5.30pm, Saturday 9am-5.30pm and on Sunday 10.30am-4pm.
