Ally Child launches Barton Mills baby massage classes to teach lifelong skill to parents

Massage techniques which could help babies to sleep better, aid colic, promote relaxation and nurture the bond between parent and child will be taught at new infant massage classes in Barton Mills.

Community nursery nurse Ally Child, who has been working with children for 20 years and qualified in infant massage for 12, is launching the classes at her home.

She said: “I am passionate about baby massage and teaching parents a lifelong skill. The benefits of baby massage are immense.

“Anything that gets parents together so they can build up bonds with each other as well as their baby is really quite special.”

Ally will teach small groups Swedish and Indian massage strokes as well as relaxation techniques, reflexology and colic/tummy trouble techniques, with a new part of the body covered each week.

Classes, starting on February 25, are aimed at birth to one year.

In future, Ally hopes to add more classes in Newmarket, Bury St Edmunds and other locations.
