It’s back to business as usual for shops and residents affected by the devastating fire which ravaged Cupola House in June.
Following the opening of photographic retailer, Jessops, in the arc on Wednesday all those businesses effected by the fire have recommenced trading.
Jessops’ new store is much larger than their previous property, in The Traverse, allowing them to extend the range of services offered.
Sean Emmett, marketing director of Jessops, said: “The new store has so much choice to offer, so whether you are an amateur or a professional photographer our friendly team of experts will be on hand to offer advice.”
Clothing store, Sahara, reopened in The Traverse on November 8.
With a new winter range in stock the shop has received a positive reaction from customers and its comment book is filled with remarks such as, ‘so glad you are back’.
A spokesman for St Edmundsbury Borough Council said: “Amazingly Bury rallied around and not one single business went under due to the fire.
“It was a very stressful and frightening time for most of them, but Bury did them proud.”
