A GROUP of aircraft technicians from Wattisham Airfield have raised more than £1,100 by going a month without shaving.

Team Apache UK took part in Movember, a national annual challenge where men remain unshaved and grow moustaches for one month.

The challenge raises money and awareness for men’s health, particularly for The Prostate Cancer Charity.

The Wattisham team, made up of eight men, has raised more than £1,100 for charity.

Shaun Thomas, who led the challenge, said: “We will definitely do it next year and hopefully do an event to go with it.

“It all started off as a bit of fun and then people started taking it more seriously.”

The airmen, who all work at Wattisham Airfield, also work alongside the Army. The group wanted to thank them for contributing most of the donations.
