SOLDIERS from 16 Air Assault Brigade will gather at St Edmundsbury Cathedral on Wednesday (June 8) for a service to give thanks for their return from Afghanistan, remember the fallen and look to the future.

Minister for the Armed Forces Nick Harvey will join troops, some of whom are based at Wattisham, for the service and aAmong the congregation will be relatives of the 22 soldiers killed during the deployment.

The Right Reverend Lord Eames, formerly Archbishop of Armagh and Primate of All Ireland, will give the sermon and the service will feature music from the Band of The Parachute Regiment and a choir of Fijian soldiers.

As Task Force Helmand, 16 Air Assault Brigade deployed to Afghanistan between October 2010 and April 2011.
