On Wednesday, Judge John Holt ruled against an application for bail by Bjorn Grahn, 20, of Riverside Close, Mildenhall, who is charged with robbery and possession of an offensive weapon.
The incident is said to have taken place in Kingsway, Mildenhall on the evening of March 10 where a 76-year-old woman who was recovering from a stroke, was walking home.
She suffered a fractured arm, head and facial injuries as her handbag was grabbed and was treated for her injuries in hospital.
Also in custody charged with robbery are Derek McCray, 22, of Heath Road, Brandon and Sean Woods, 21, of Girton Close, Mildenhall.
Woods faces two further charges of theft from a person in relation to two separate alleged incidents in Mildenhall on February 18 and February 23.
All three defendants are due back in court on June 1 for a plea and case management hearing.
