An ambitious fund-raising campaign in memory of a popular swimming and fitness instructor has so far raised £7,000 for two vital charities.
A plethora of community activities including a 60s dance, school talent show, gym challenge and most recently a swimming challenge have helped contribute to the year long Judith’s 50/50.
It was launched at the start of the year in tribute to Judith Lindley-Neilson, who worked at Moreton Hall Health Club and died aged 49 following a two year battle with eye cancer, to amass money for her two favourite charities WaterAid and the Teenage Cancer Trust.
Friend and business partner Sue Brown said: “We’re absolutely delighted it’s going so well and that so many people are getting involved and pushing themselves.”
Future events include a James Bond themed summer dance and a cross channel relay swim to France. Visit http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/team/judiths50-50
