an evening spectacular for children will weave together a magical story and music in a very special setting.
Nowton Park will be transformed into a magical illuminated landscape for the story of the unicorn who comes to the ‘wild woods of wonder’ with the task of collecting wishes from the creatures who lives there.
The story has been written by John Smithson, parks development manager, who has been writing stories and songs for around 15 years since his children were young.
He and his team put on regular workshops and activities and the park’s Winters Tail will provide a magical evening for children and families.
There will be a tableaux of large models of a badger, toad, deer, hare and grass snake made from wicker, wood and textiles by local artists.
Pupils at County Upper School are making a soundtrack and youngsters in the reception class at St Edmund’s Primary School are making decorations for the sets.
The event will run every 20 minutes from 4.30pm on December 9, 10 and 11 and 16, 17 and 18.
