Independent estate agent Mortimer and Gausden in Bury St Edmunds have launched a new sales campaign following a boost to its figures.

Mortimer and Gausden in Langton Place have reported a 92 per cent increase in sales for the last six week period compared to that of last year.

Andrew Mortimer co-director of the company said: “We have been very pleasantly surprised, by just how busy we have been.

“Some properties have sold pretty much over night and many have achieved their asking prices.

“I think most estate agents would agree that selling properties at the moment is relatively straight forward, assuming that they are price correctly and are marketed effectively.”

Mortimer and Gausden say are confident the buoyant market trend will continue for the foreseeable future. “The main difficulty is finding enough properties to sell to waiting buyers,” said Mr Mortimer.

With that in mind the estate agency has launched a new sales campaign to encourage more sellers to ‘test the market’

Ian Gausden said: “We have just launched our four week challenge where we ask for a very short agency period of just four weeks.

“This gives potential vendors the opportunity to test the market and indeed our services without a long term commitment.

“We are very positive about this year and hope that this significant improvement in the housing market is a good indication that the economy in general is starting to recover.”
