THE sounds of old England filled the air at the weekend as a Stowmarket museum held its annual traditional music event.
Visitors enjoyed accordion-playing musicians, traditional dancing workshops and other activities at the East Anglian Traditional Music day at the Museum of East Anglian Life on Saturday.
About 1,000 people attended the event, making it the most successful and popular event for a decade.
Katie Howson, co-director of the East Anglian Music Trust, which organises the event, was very happy with how the day went.
“It all went really well – it shows how popular this sort of music is.”
The day featured concerts, talks, storytelling and exhibitions but also offered a number of opportunities for people to have a go at playing instruments and learning to dance.
Although folk musicians from all over the country took part, many of the acts and songs had links to East Anglia.
