CARNIVAL fever is in the air in Stowmarket – as the town’s 51st annual event gets under way today.

This year, Stowmarket Carnival is offering an extra special live music event with StowFest: The Carnival Sessions.

As well as a fun fair, acrobatics, a birds of prey display, car show and entertainment for all the family, a mini StowFest will also be bringing live music to the weekend event.

The carnival takes place at the Recreation Ground today through to Sunday.

Zoe Lynch, vice-chair of Stowmarket Carnival, said: “We wanted to do something to enhance the Sunday afternoon of this year’s carnival.

“We’re now looking forward to a great afternoon of live music.”

Daniel Harvey, Stowmarket Town Council public services manager, said: “The carnival is the biggest annual event in Stowmarket and I’m privileged to be a small part of it.

“We’ve got some excellent bands lined up playing acoustic, pop, rock, funk, indie and jazz.”
