Arts centre showcases its first season

THE John Peel Centre for Creative Arts in Stowmarket has released its first programme of events with a wide range of music, poetry and theatre to delight audiences over the next couple of months,

The centre in the former Corn Exchange building opens its doors to 2012 tomorrow evening with performance poetry from some of the region’s best – Luke Wright, Molly Naylor, John Osborne and Tim Clare.

Proceeds from the evening will go towards the completion of the arts centre project.

Other artists include Kal Lavelle and friends who are supporting Ed Sheeran on his UK tour and who will be appearing next Saturday.

Saiichi Sugiyama, who sold out at last year’s Blues Fest in the town, will be playing on February 3, while Jake Morley, song writer and guitarist, headlines on February 11.

Three Singing Pigs puppet theatre features on February 17 while Gerry Read with support from Lapalux and Ramp DJs perform on February 24 while Amplitude showcases young musicians on Mar 2.

Doug Segal offers mind reading entertainment on March 17 and Eastern Angles perform on March 20.
