AN AFRICAN children’s choir will be lighting up Beyton Middle school to raise money for Kampala Children’s centre.

Rhythms of Life is Destiny Africa Children’s choirs third tour in the UK and the second tour with organiser Martyn Ryan. Martyn, who says he has a ‘passion’ for Africa, described the production of modern and traditional African music as an African Experience.

The production is performed by some of the 106 the children from the centre in Uganda, all orphaned by war and disease and the musical portrays their stories.

The Beyton performance is on September 24 at 7.30pm,

Merchandise, including CDs and African crafts will also be available to buy, with all profits from the tour and products going to the Kampala children’s centre.

On the day of the performance there will be taster sessions in Charter Square, Bury St Edmunds, with the chance to learn traditional African dance.
