The talented and multi-award winning young pianist, Alexander Ullman will play the uplifting Grieg Piano Concerto with the Suffolk Philharmonic Orchestra during the Bury Festival at The Apex on Sunday, May 22, starting at 4pm.
As well as the Suffolk Philharmonic, Alexander is playing with the Philadelphia Orchestra, Montreal Symphony Orchestra, Budapest Radio Orchestra and many more. Still only in his mid-twenties, he has been broadcast by BBC Radio 3, Radio France, and MAR Classic.
Conductor Leslie Olive has paired the Grieg Piano Concerto with one of the most famous symphonies of all time – Beethoven’s famous Third Symphony, known as the “Eroica” after it was initially dedicated to Napoleon Bonaparte.
Suffolk Philharmonic Orchestra is made up entirely of fully professional performers, selected for sheer excellence of playing and for their experience performing with the great orchestras of the world.
A growing number of them live in Suffolk, a high proportion are young as well as gifted, and all take real pride and delight in performing with Suffolk Philharmonic.
As well as Suffolk Philharmonic, conductor Leslie Olive has worked with some of the country’s top orchestras, including the Philharmonia, the Royal Philharmonic, London Mozart Players and the English Chamber Orchestra, and was for a number of years a music director of BBC Radio. Locally he is conductor of Stowmarket Chorale and Eye Bach Choir.
