ONE of the UK’s most successful rock outfits of the past decade are set to bring some rock to the woods next year.
Suffolk glam-rock award-winners, The Darkness, have been lined up to perform in Thetford Forest next July.
Tickets for the landmark gig go on sale today and are expected to sell quickly.
The rockers hit the headlines in 2003 when their debut album, Permission to Land, sold over a million copies. The single, I Believe In A Thing Called Love, became a hit, posting at number 2 in the UK charts.
Justin Hawkins, lead singer, said: “I have often walked through Thetford Forest, enchanted by bird-song, mesmerised by the rhythm of nesting squirrels. My urge to fill the trees with music of my own can no longer be denied.”
The Darkness will appear on July 14 as part of Forestry Commission Live Music 2012.
