AN exciting Stowmarket arts project has gained the support of international folk-pop singer, Newton Faulkner.
The popular musician is putting on a fund-raiser at Haughley Park Barns on February 26 to support the John Peel Centre for Creative Arts.
Newton Faulkner is well-known in the UK for his hit Dream Catch Me and his acoustic cover of Massive Attack’s famous Teardrop.
Local band Bof! and pianist Roger Kemp will also play at the event which aims to boost funds for the project to convert the Stowmarket Corn Exchange into a creative arts centre in memory of the popular radio DJ.
The team behind the project won a grant of £50,000 from the People’s Millions in November. The first phase of building work at the centre is now complete and the work will continue.
Tickets for the Newton Faulkner event are £35 and include a reception drink, canapes and a two-course meal.
