HANNAH Wright – remember the name.

The 15-year-old County Upper School student from Bury St Edmunds is on the road to singing stardom after she was accepted into the National Youth Choir.

The tough audition process saw Hannah go up against more than 100 other hopefuls for a spot on the choir’s training courses at Easter.

She said: “I was surprised because the training course is quite hard to get in to. I also only did one audItion, when most people have to go through three.”

Hannah says she has been singing ‘for years’ and has been with Bury St Edmunds-based choir Voice Squad for more than five years.

Birgitta Kenyon, Hannah’s vocal coach, said she had worked ‘fantastically hard’ to earn her place.

Hannah’s next challenge is her GCSE exams, including one in music, to be taken next year.
