The search for Bury St Edmunds’ best songwriter comes to a dramatic climax at the Hunter Club on Friday.
After six fiercely fought heats, eight finalists will take to the stage at the Bury Songwriters Competition final.
The night of top music also includes a set from last year’s winners, The Facade and Suffolk alt-blues trio Horse Party.
The impressive prize package includes an EP recording session at the Shrubbery Studio in Bury St Edmunds, the world wide release of the EP through Sturm Und Drang Recordings, £100 of vouchers from Sounds Plus, management advice from Toonteen Industries and a custom made, one string, Nineboys Diddley bow guitar.
Event organiser Neil Rayson said: “We have ten fantastic acts playing on the night.
“In the final there are solo acts, RNB acts, Americana, accoustic bands - we have a diverse range of local talent from all over East Anglia.”
The eight acts hoping to impress the judges are The Wilsons, Danny Hughes, Hard Actors, Roisin O Hagan, Mirror Signal, Thy Last Drop, Shannon Hope and Vince Gehlfuss.
Tickets are available in advance from the Masons Arms on Whiting Street for £6 or for £7 on the door of the Hunter Club in Bury St Edmunds on the night.
Doors open at 7.30pm.
