Written by Chris Hannon, the well loved panto will be directed by Karen Simpson, the theatre’s artistic director.

It follows the adventurous Jack, who makes a fantastical discovery when he plants a handful of magic beans and a gargantuan beanstalk takes root.

Oliver Mawdsley will play the hero Jack, with Louise Olley as Jill. Leonie Spilsbury, who appeared in the theatre’s production of Mansfield Park in 2012/13, returns as Wendy and the Giant’s wife, and James Parkes, who shone last year as one of the Ugly Sisters in Cinderella, will again step into the Dame’s shoes.
