Opera UK is opening two very different shows recognising and honouring the 100th anniversary of the outbreak of WW1.

With its playful presentation of lust, pride and gender politics, Cosi Fan Tutte, is underscored by an orchestral score by Mozart.

Keep the Home Fires Burning dives directly into the music of the First World War. The afternoon performance presents a selection of the most famous songs of the wartime era from Ivor Novello’s eponymous hit to well-known classics of the war such as Pack up Your Troubles in Your Old Kit Bag, It’s a Long Way to Tipperary and The Merry Widow.

Theatre Royal, Bury.
