The second annual Homegrown Music Festival in Barrow has landed a coup with one of Britain’s top X Factor success stories, Matt Cardle, set to headline.

Cardle, above left, whose family live near Halstead, tops the Saturday night set at the festival which runs from August 22 to 24.

Organiser Glen Moulds said: “Along with Matt there is loads of other top local talent on show – this year’s Homegrown is going to be a weekend to remember.”

The weekend will feature over 80 bands and kicks off with an evening set on August 22 featuring the likes of Twisted Piglet and Dingus Khan, top right.

On Sunday there’s a treat for ska lovers when Big 10 take to the stage in a programme that also includes Lost Lungs, bottom right.

Tickets are £7.50 for Friday night, £15 for Saturday or Sunday, £27 for the weekend or £45 camping.from www.homegrownfest.co.uk
