Food and farming feast alongside live music at estate’s fifth festival

A thoroughly rural festival is taking place at Elveden Estates next weekend.

The Big Onion Food and Music Festival on September 5 and 6 will take place in the Walled Garden, giving a visitors a real food and farming feast.

Now in its fifth year, the festival will include cooking and butchery demonstrations from accomplished chefs, talks from Elveden’s farm manager about machinery and techniques, and from its game keeper about game preparation.

There will also be a ‘Home-Baked’ competition, tractor, trailer and donkey rides, and a chance to meet farm animals with Gemma’s Farm.

Live music acts will include local singer songwriters and covers bands including Charley Jay, Lone Crows and Gameplan.
