An exciting and diverse festival is returning to the Suffolk coast for its ninth outing this month.

The HighTide Festival is taking place from September 10 to 20 in Aldeburgh, bringing some of the freshest theatre and comedy to the popular town.

While retaining its mission to champion emerging playwrights and new theatrical productions, the festival has secured some well known names for its readings and expanded music and comedy programmes.

Christopher Eccleston, Meera Syal and Sir Richard Eyre will appear in a series of Face to Face events, Vanessa Redgrave will host an evening of special readings.

Comedienne Shappi Korsandi is among the acts from comedy partner Soho Theatre, and there will be music from Concordia Foundation and Firefly Burning.
