AFTER tackling West Side Story, Les Miserables and Anything Goes, County Upper School is back on stage at The Apex this week with its new performance of The Phantom of the Opera.
The production, which opened last night and runs until tomorrow, features a cast of more than 50 students on stage, with another 30 making sure everything goes smoothly backstage.
The ambitious production will also feature clever illusions on stage, with characters literally ‘disappearing’.
The school’s talented orchestra will fill the pit to play along to the hit musical’s famous songs.
Head of drama Emma Stevens, who is also producing the play, said: “The Apex is an amazing venue for putting on something like this – the acoustics are incredible.
“We have had to create lots of illusions on stage – some characters disappear while on stage.
“The commitment to the show from everyone involved has been brilliant.”
