Steampunk band Metropolis are set to release their new album next month.
The five-piece, made up of singer Christopher Longman, bass player Pete Alexander, lead guitarist Colin White, drummer Dan Alexander and keyboard player Johnny Boreham, are launching the album, Out of Mind, at the John Peel Centre for Creative Arts in Stowmarket on March 22.
Johhny said the new album was a big step forward for the band.
He said: “I am really excited about it, I think it’s a cracking album.
“You can hear the growth of Metropolis in this release.
“From the EP we released to this is a big step forward.”
The band have already had their album featured on Radio Caroline and Cambridge 105 and are being featured on BBC Radio Suffolk in March.
Johnny said the band took an unusual approach to recording the album.
“We recorded it in a very strange way,” he said.
“The bass and vocals were recorded at The Shrubbery Studio in Bury and the guitars, keys and drums at home.
“Then Dave Anderson, the bass player from Hawkwind, mixed it all together at his studio in Wales.
“It has been mixed in analogue for a nice warm sound.
“They’ve both done a great job with it.”
Tickets for the album launch are available at the John Peel Centre box office on 01449 774678 at £5 each.
Bury St Edmunds Indie-Folk band Sea Creatures will join Metropolis as special guests.
