The Lane dancers who were successful at the national dance competition in Blackpool

Pupils from Lane Dance Centres, which runs a branch at Bury St Edmunds Leisure Centre, showcased their moves at the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dance National Grand Finals in Blackpool over the weekend.

Twenty three dancers took part in the ballroom, latin and sequence contest at the seaside resort’s Winter Gardens, which saw 62 schools compete.

Ronnie Walford, who runs the Bury branch, noted an exceptional achievement by Miles Shelbourne, who won the pre-bronze quickstep.

She said: “Everyone danced so well we couldn’t have asked for any more from them. The standard of dancing at the competition was exceptional this year. Every single one of our pupils did us very proud indeed.”
