Athletes of all ages and abilities turned out in force to take part in the annual St Edmunds' Wheel bike ride, walk and relay race in Bury St Edmunds on Sunday.
The event, which is in its 11th year, was started in the Abbey Gardens by 11-year-old Rory Pettitt, of Ixworth, who was treated for leukemia 20 months ago and wanted to raise money for Clic Sargent, the children's cancer charity.
Money raised from the Magna Carta relay event, which saw teams of six runners completing a route of approximately 1.8 miles and was won by St Edmund's Pacers, will go directly to the charity.
More than 400 sponsored cyclists took part in 15, 25, 50 and 100-mile rides around Bury and the surrounding area to raise money which will be distributed between a number of Suffolk charities, including the Bury Free Press Charity Fund
Speaking before the event, Rory said: "I'm looking forward to the 15-mile ride, but I think it will be tough.
"It will mean quite a lot for me to finish it, as it has been tough and I just hope we can raise lots of money for Clic Sargent."
The event was organised by Brian Hurrell, Ian Turner and Steve Laycock, who founded St Edmund's Wheel.
So far, the annual events have raised £93,000 for charity and they are hoping this year will break the £100,000 mark.
A presentation evening to distribute the funds will take place in November.
