Chief photographer HELEN WHITCOMBE took a helicopter ride over Bury St Edmunds and captured some stunning aerial views of the town and its surrounding area.
These aerial pictures of Bury St Edmunds were taken by Bury Free Press chief photographer Helen Whitcombe, who flew over the town recently.

She flew with Aeromega, which will be giving helicopter flights to three lucky people at this weekend's Rougham Air Display and Classic Car Show.

The flights have been sponsored by Land Charter Homes, based in Chelmsford, who are currently developing Abbotsgate, off Cullum Road, in Bury St Edmunds.

Helen used a 200mm lens to take the shots as the craft flew around the outskirts of the town from Rougham and managed to capture a view of St Edmundsbury Cathedral, the sugar beet factory, Ickworth House and West Suffolk Athletics track. The pilot was Dominic Lawford.
