A charity car show organised by the Bury Retro Ford Club is set to become an annual event.
More than 270 cars and motorbikes and hundreds of people went along for the Cars on the Green show at Thurston on Sunday.

Adrian Balaam, one of the organisers, said: "It went absolutely fantastically – better than we had hoped.

"The club is only 18 months old and it was the first time we have organised a show – we have had some really positive comments and are already planning next year's event."

The event raised around £600 for East Anglia's Children's Hospices (Each).

Adrian's daughter Madison has a genetic disorder called Noonan's Syndrome and goes to the Each hospice at Milton for respite care.

"We wanted to raise funds as well as awareness of the hospices," said Adrian, who lives in Ingham.

Cars on the Green attracted car enthusiasts from as far as Stoke on Trent.

There were 20 awards, with a Ford Anglia 100e – which is featured on the cover of the current Retro Ford Magazine – winning five.
