THETFORD Town FC have been dealt another major injury blow this week with the news first-choice goalkeeper Lee Hulyer will be out of action for up to eight weeks.
After sliding into a post in the 5-2 Ridgeons League Cup quarter-final defeat at Needham Market on Wednesday, the in-form shot-stopper was forced off the field with suspected damaged ankle ligaments.

Sixteen-year-old Matthew Terry replaced Hulyer and is expected to retain the number one jersey for the Ridgeons League Division One trip to lowly March Town United tomorrow (ko 3pm).

Thetford team manager Simon Brooks said, "Every-one is really disappointed because he has been in fine form for us this season.

"If Matthew reaches the potential he has shown for the Reserves, a new stopper will not necessarily be a first-team addition."

Strike duo Karl Pask and Andrew Wood both found the net in the midweek cup loss against the Premier Division table-toppers and while the result was not what he was looking for, Brooks was delighted with his side's battling performance.

"We played very well in open play," said the Mundford Road chief. "We broke up play and stopped a very good side like Needham from their usual flowing football."
