Jon Culshaw, star of BBC comedy show Dead Ringers, has been in Thetford filming for the television tribute to Dad's Army.
The show, which will be hosted by Jonathan Ross, is due to be broadcast on BBC1 on August 3. Filming was done around the Guildhall, Old Bury Road, Mill Lane and the Bingo Hall – formerly the Palace Cinema.
The TV funnyman filmed links for the show at the many locations used in the town and spoke to locals involved in the show.
The town is also due to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the show on July 26 and 27. The weekend will include re-enactments of some scenes from episodes, vehicles from the series on display, a band playing swing music and Jill Daniels performing her 1940s show The Hits from the Blitz. The Dad's Army Appreciation Society will also be giving a tour of some locations.
Fans of the show are due to visit for the celebrations, as are some of the surviving cast members and co-writer of the programme David Croft, who lives in Honington.
Anyone interested in supporting the event can call Corinne Fulford on 07802 701911.
