The new mayor of Thetford was officially sworn in at a ceremony at the Guildhall on Wednesday.
Cllr John Harding, who has represented Guildhall ward for the last five years, takes the reins from Robert Kybird.

Cllr Harding, who is married to Lesley and lives in Hawthorn Way, works for Macgregor Welding Systems, in Mildenhall.

Town councillors dressed in full regalia for the mayor making, which also included a presentation to 16 former Thetford mayors, who were honoured and received badges from outgoing mayor Robert Kybird and mayoress Sue Glason.

A vote of thanks was given to Cllr Kybird for his service over the past year and prayers were said by the mayor's chaplain.
