Thetford residents in need of furniture will no longer have to wait to furnish their homes, thanks to the launch of a voucher scheme.
The Fast Track Furniture Scheme, funded by Shadwell Stud, will see representatives from Peddars Way Housing Association, Thetford Police and Thetford Fire Service issuing vouchers to people in urgent need of furniture and white goods.

The scheme is being run via Green Ventures, a Keystone Development Trust furniture project which saves good quality, unwanted and donated furniture from landfill.

Michael Farmer, a new Peddars Way Housing Association tenant who previously lived in his sister's shed for a year-and-a-half, said: "This furniture has helped such a lot and I can now have my children to stay. Because they have their own beds, they stay every weekend."

Green Ventures, in York Way, is open on Thursdays and Fridays from 9am-4pm and Saturdays from 9am-2pm.

If you have any clean items in good working order to donate, call 07917 395813.
