Barnham: No sign of disease in dead cows

Results from post-mortem tests carried out on dead cows removed from a field in Barnham showed no signs of disease.
Around 100 cows and calves were removed from land at East Farm by the RSPCA on March 30 after a member of the public contacted animal welfare officials with concerns over the condition of the cattle, which were described as being very weak and thin.
The tests were carried out on four carcasses at the Veterinary Laboratory Association, in Bury St Edmunds.
A spokeswoman for the RSPCA said new homes had been found for 38 of the animals and the rest of the herd was 'doing well'.
She said the RSPCA was still putting together a case against the farmer.
The animals, a mix of Hereford, Limousin and Charolais breeds, were found without food and water in the field next to a housing estate in the village.
