A new group has been set up on the Abbey estate, in Thetford, to provide entertainment for residents and raise money for good causes.
The new Anchor group, which stands for Abbey Neighbourhood Centre Helping Our Residents, is made up of local residents and agencies who want to organise community events at the Neighbourhood Centre on the estate.

The group includes representatives from Keystone Development Trust, Peddars Way Housing Association, Abbey Café and residents. Two events have already been organised.

On September 27, there will be a table top sale at the Abbey Neighbourhood Centre, from 11am-1pm, with pitches costing just £2.50. All funds raised will support activities at the centre.

There will also be a Hallowe'en quiz night on October 30, with a £50 cash prize for the winning team.

The group is appealing for individuals and businesses to donate prizes for both events. For further information, contact Fiona Drew at the centre on 01842 821643.
